My brain is not always kind to me.  It tends to be abusive and worries too much.  Today, it ends; I will train my brain to be my cheerleader and help me achieve what I want in life.

The Unkind Brain 🥺🧐🤯

A lot of negative self-talk lies in the unkind brain, sabotaging success.

  • What if I lose?  What if I could have won more elsewhere?
  • What will other’s think of me?
  • What will I think of myself?
  • I don’t deserve success.  Success is for others, not me.

The brain tries to protect itself from harm, and is scared of failure.

  • I must account for every variable.
  • I must eliminate all uncertainty.
  • I should wait for a better opportunity.
  • I have tried before and it did not work.

The Kind Brain ☺️🤓🥳

The Kind Brain is supportive, values its own opinion instead of others, and believes in itself.

  • You can do it.  This decision can be a winner.
  • Others who see me act will be impressed.  Those who judge aren’t worth it.
  • I will be proud of myself for having acted.
  • I deserve success.  I will grab it for myself.

The Kind Brain is ok with failure and encourages action.

  1. I have analyzed enough.  Now I go for it.
  2. There is always uncertainly.  Life is like that.
  3. There is no better time to act than now.
  4. I’ve failed before, but this time will succeed.  Success comes from Failure.

Training the Brain

This post is deliberately short.  It is possible to go into detail on so many concepts here, but I won’t.  This is simply a reminder that my own brain gets in the way.

I am (again and forever) deciding right now how my brain will talk to me.  It will be kind to me.  It will be my biggest cheerleader.  (Until I fall back into my old habits.  Then I will read this post again.)

It starts now.
